Bobcat Company is a homegrown North Dakota company born of a pioneering spirit. Founded in 1947, in Gwinner, ND, Bobcat pioneered the skid-steer loader. Our engineers developed a better way to perform tough digging, moving and lifting jobs faster and more efficiently.
Our farm, agriculture and construction products include skid steers, utility vehicles, telehandlers, compact tractors, skid steer attachments including; angle brooms, augers, hay bale forks, blades, snow blowers, stump grinders, buckets, loaders, backhoes, bale handlers, grapples, root grapples, snow blades and trenchers, mowers, pallet forks and brooms. Beside these skid steer attachments Bobcat also provides mini skid steers, compact excavators, compact loaders, compact tractor attachments including; fence post drivers, front-end loaders and box blades.
In 2008, we mark 50 years of the Bobcat loader and celebrate our position as the world leader in the engineering, manufacturing, marketing and distribution of compact equipment. Our company and its employees have symbolized the innovative spirit, tenacity and personal pride that it takes to be successful.
The company and its products have changed to meet the world's needs. Today the Bobcat family includes skid-steer loaders, compact track loaders, all-wheel steer loaders, mini-track loaders, compact excavators (the only brand manufactured in the United States), utility work machines, utility vehicles, VersaHandler telescopic tool carriers, compact tractors and job matched attachments.
From its North Dakota base, the company continues to lead the compact equipment industry in every aspect of equipment design, development and marketing, thanks to an innovative spirit that continues to permeate the entire organization.

Pioneering Maneuverability
Bobcat introduced its first compact loader in 1958 and two years later, the world's first skid-steer loader. This created an entire industry of machines that put the power of large equipment in a compact size with unmatched maneuverability.

In 1970 Bobcat invented the first quick-change attachment system for skid-steer loaders called the Bob-TachTM mounting system. In 1957 a turkey farmer needed help. So we built the world's first skid-steer loader. We created an industry by listening to the needs of the customer. This focus is the same today. In 2000 a superintendent needed help. So we built the world's first Toolcat utility work machine. We continue to be a global leader in innovation by listening to our customers.
