Safeguard
Learn more about Safeguard, watch the video or listen to the podcast.
Last week Heartland Co-op, along with members of the Malvern community and 4-H members of the Henderson Hornets/Ambitious Andies came together to support the Kennedy Haley Memorial Arena project.
The project started by adding sand to the arena (donated by Heartland Co-op), repainting the arena fence, creating a sign and possible lighting. This will leave a lasting legacy to a beautiful horsewoman and help future generations of youth.
Conservation Updates
Just Released! New short film about Conservation.
Heartland Co-op's Conservation Agronomy team is proud to support the Unilever and Practical Farmers of Iowa cover crop cost share program.
In 2022 alone, over 300 of our Iowa and Nebraska farmers took part in the program! Covercrops are one of the many solutions to preventing soil erosion and holding our nutrients in our fields. Even more exciting? One of our forward-thinking farmers, our Conservation Agronomist, Ruth McCabe are featured in this film!
Western Iowa Growers Meeting was in Slater, part of Heartland Co-op's Conservation Team, Will Hoffmann and Emery Davis were presenting, along with PFI's Lydia English.
They had a good turn out, and spoke about the Haggie project, cover crops, edge of field structures and cost share.
Last year the Conservation team had a great run, this year looks to even pick up more momentum and be a success as well.
